Gavin Dempsey
BEng (Hons) CEng FICE
Director - Glasgow
Gavin is a highly experienced Chartered Civil Engineer, and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, with a passion for scaffold design engineering.
After graduating from the University of Glasgow, Gavin started his career in the Oil & Gas industry before moving into scaffold design in 2007. Gavin spent 13 years as Director then Managing Director at 48.3 Scaffold Design before founding AXS Consulting in early 2024.
Gavin is recognised as a leading specialist with expertise in both engineering and design consultancy management. He loves problem solving and finding new ways to be efficient.

Luke Hunma
BSc (Hons) CEng MICE
Director - Surrey
Luke is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers with over 13 years’ experience in the scaffolding design sector. He started his career at The Admiral Scaffolding Group, before moving to design consultancy 48.3.
It was at 48.3 where Luke developed from Graduate engineer to Associate Director over a period of 10 years, eventually responsible for the operational delivery of the entire business and responsible for a team of 18 engineers in the Southern region. Being part of the senior management team for 6 years, he contributed to the growth, development, and success of the company.
Luke has built many strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs and delivering tailored solutions to meet their expectations over hundreds of projects.

Ivik Masek BSc (Hons) IEng MICE
Director - Leeds
Ivik Masek brings over two decades of diverse experience in scaffold design, engineering consultancy, project management, and training to AXS. His previous role as the Technical Director and DI at 48.3 Scaffold Design underscores his expertise, now applied to benefit AXS and its clients.
With extensive expertise across various sectors including rail and heritage, Ivik is known for his collaborative approach and meticulous attention to detail. He prioritises client needs, consistently delivering projects on time and exceeding expectations.
Outside of his professional commitments, Ivik is dedicated to community engagement. As a Reviewer and Mentor at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), he guides aspiring engineers, contributing to the industry's future. Ivik also shares his knowledge as a Lecturer, educating others in scaffold design and temporary works engineering.
In his role as a Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE), Ivik ensures safety and professionalism in Network Rail projects. His involvement in the NASC Technical Committee reflects his commitment to shaping industry best practices.
Ivik's dedication to excellence and innovation makes him a valuable asset to AXS and the broader engineering community.
